RainguardTM downspout extensions disperse rainwater away from your foundation. Helps prevent wet basements and erosion damage to your lawns and flowerbeds. RainguardTM automatically rolls out to disperse rainwater from your gutters, and rewinds on its spool when the rain stops! Doesn't block lawn mowers, sidewalks or driveways. Replenishes natural groundwater aquifer. Takes water away from pest-control chemicals near your foundation. Designed to last: Self-cleaning design expels dirt, leaves and debris automatically! Tough, weather-resistant plastic components with ultraviolet (UV) protection. No metal parts to rust or wear out. Rolls out when it rains! Rolls back up when rain stops! How does RainguardTM work? Rainwater from the roof creates pressure in the downspout, causing RainguardTM to roll out. Water sprinkles from holes along the length of the unit (see below). During heavier rains, water is also expelled from a large flush hole near the spool. When pressure from rainwater lessens, RainguardTM rolls up automatically-usually within 30-60 minutes! RainguardTM can be shortened. Removal of the unit is not required. Simply roll out RainguardTM and place a heavy object at the end to prevent re-rolling. Determine where you would like the unit to stop, and cut a new oval flush-hole (3" x 4") with a sharp knife or scissors in the outer top surface of the tube. RainguardTM Automatic Downspout Extensions have two small (3/32") sprinkler holes located 24 inches from the downspout and two more holes every 7 inches along the remaining length of the unit. The sprinklers distribute water on your lawn, and also help the unit rewind by ensuring that water drains from the unit after the rain stops.
